My husband and I had an interesting conversation about difficulties in our relationship as an interracial couple, the challenges that he’s faced with job discrimination and education.
I really enjoy doing these podcasts with hubby and it’s been a while since I’ve posted one, but we’ve still been recording them and I’ll probably post a few more soon. I hope you enjoy the conversation and we’d love to hear your opinions too! :)

I thought Baptists are active in church as well as Pentecostal.
Thanks for the comments Glenn! Actually, there are several different types of baptist churches. You’re probably thinking of Southern Baptist, which is often more close to Pentecostal. Many baptist churches are quite the opposite though and don’t believe in dancing, clapping, having a band, etc. It’s much more reserved, like Catholic or some Lutheran churches.
Thank you for claifying that Chantilly. My wife wants to try a Baptist church. There's one in our town that we'll probably try out soon. I suspect it's the low key version. We'll see =)

I didn’t know that “people of color” were worried about being made fun of by teachers! Goes to show how ignorant I am of the non-’white’ experience.
Yes, this is a constant fear for many. Most of the young boys we taught saw criticism from their teachers and school authorities as their number one concern in their education. It’s a huge problem. Many times people forget that brown boys are still just ‘boys’. They need encouragement and guidance as anyone else would…probably more so.

College counselors need to take a pledge to not stereotype and not be racist!
Well said…they need professional training. It’s way to easy to slip up.
