Making Resolutions for 2012

I’ve been making a lot of plans for 2012 and it feels like a powerful year.  So this year I’m starting off with a lot of great ideas that I’ve wanted to do all year long, but didn’t know how to start.  Some examples…an ebook, a blog hop, a weekly life change progress journal…the list goes on, but for now…let’s start with the blog hop and the journal.  Here are some of the details (more details coming soon):

Multicultural Mondays Blog Hops
Starting on Monday, January 9th, I’ll be issuing a weekly challenge to myself that will last throughout the year.  It starts with a multicultural blog hop…something I’ve wanted to do since last March, but never quite got off the ground.

This blog hop is about connecting with my multicultural familia, holding myself accountable for addressing the issues that interest me most and learning from others who have great things to share! This will be my first long-term weekly column and a great opportunity to talk about multicultural living each week.

In the weekly hop, we’ll be focusing on a variety of topics…with a new genre each week.  Topics like literature, identity, natural parenting, healthy living, self-motivation, activism, interracial and intercultural relationships, multicultural parenting, bilingual education, etc. Without a doubt, I need to devote more time in my life to all of these topics and I’d love to invite you all along for the ride!

Join me every Monday and share your multicultural topics and topics of interest to multicultural families!

Life Change Challenge Journal
One thing that I’ve been letting myself slide on is taking care of me.  When I got married, it was all about my hubby…when I had my baby girl, I let my needs go a little more, and now I’m to the point where I’ve had a realization that my own needs are just as important as everyone else’s. My goal for 2012 is to take better care of me.  To go back to healthy eating, green living and a daily fitness routine.  So I’ll be holding myself accountable by writing about it here.

I’m going to write about my challenges and progress over this year and share healthful tips for those interested, because I actually used to be a bit of a health nut in my past life.  ;)

I would love for you to stop by and check in on me!  If you have some challenges or successes of your own, please share!  I could really use the encouragement!

Celebrating My One Year Blog Anniversary

You may have noticed that the site looks a little different today!  That’s because I’ve changed the header and background to blue (my favorite color) to celebrate the New Year and my 1st year anniversary of blogging!  Through January 8th, I’ll have this special look up during a full week of giveaways to celebrate the occasion!

Starting Monday (tomorrow), I’ll be running a giveaway every day of the week and sharing some quick and easy tips about what I’ve learned over the last year of blogging.

Join me this week for some great multicultural giveaways and quick blogging tips!

  3. Congrats! I love the fact that you are holding yourself accountable. I find that I say something and let others hear, I feel more pressure to get it done.

    • @Christine M Thanks Christine! That’s my hope! Fitness is my biggest challenge. I used to really enjoy working out, but this last couple of years, it’s just seemed like a chore that I don’t have time for…lol. Besides that, I really want to make all-natural, organic foods part of our daily routine, instead of weekly or sporadically. Here’s to a healthier 2012! ;)

  4. Congrats on your first year!!! A whole week of giveaways, how fun!! I love the idea of a bloghop, will stop by!!
